Up until now most of my homelab posts have been about software running on a Pi and a VPS. Time to give it a proper home. 🛠️

A couple of weeks back I posted about restic snapshots from the Pi to the VPS. That covers most things, but not the Postgres database behind my portfolio. So I built a separate encrypted pipeline for it.

Spent the weekend running Cat6 from the ISP router through to the bedroom where the rack is about to go. Punched down to keystones on both ends, terminated T568B, and verified the link at a clean 1 Gbps.

Spent time this week treating my notes as a first-class part of the homelab.

A month ago I posted about the admin panel running my portfolio. What I didn't go into is what happens if the box hosting it falls over. 💾

Everyone is talking about the UK data centre boom. 📈 £59 billion in announced investment, 52 new sites in the pipeline, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia all committing significant UK programmes. The numbers are impressive.

A few weeks ago I posted about launching V1 of my portfolio. Since then I've completely rebuilt it from the ground up. 🚀
